The Patrol Division is presently made up of 3 officers and supervised by the Chief of Police, Ryan O. Sparling.
The Jackson Police Department strives to ensure proper patrol coverage for the Town of Jackson; however Officers are not on duty 24 hours a day. In the event that an Officer is not on duty or away from the town (court hearings, jail transport, mandated training, etc.), the town is patrolled by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Uniformed Patrol Officers
Public safety starts with providing order through the presence of uniformed police officers. Therefore, the most visible function of the Jackson Police Department is the uniformed patrol Officer. The role of these officers are varied to include detecting and deterring crime; responding to calls for service; and interacting with the community in a manner consistent with our policing perspective.
The Code Enforcement Division is presently made up of one Code Enforcement Officer and is supervised by the Chief of Police, Ryan O. Sparling.
The Code Enforcement Division, in conjunction with the Town Clerk, monitors, educates and enforces the Code of Ordinances and Zoning Ordinances of the Town of Jackson. The Division also enforces laws pertaining to domesticated animals and their treatment.
The goal of the Jackson Code Enforcement Division is education and compliance first, then enforcement if education has failed.
